These are the shoes I wore to work today. They are not the same shoe, they are not the same color, and they are not even the same heel height--I kinda limped when I walked.
Did I notice this before I got to my office? No. I run around so preoccupied all the time, that I don't even notice something as obvious as this.
What made matters worse was that my friend Mary Ann--Mary Ann, the always stunningly and tastefully dressed--stopped in today. Mary Ann and I are a study in contrasts. Mary Ann and my staff think that it is charming that I am a character. I do not want to be a character--I want to look like Mary Ann. My mission is life, it seems, is to be comic relief.
Daughter, who had to bring me matching shoes or I would have had to buy a pair because I had to be two places today where it was advisable that one's shoes match, said, "Honestly, Mom, how do you make it through life?"
My husband advises that I keep a pair of shoes at the office because--you don't know how I hate to admit this--this is NOT the first time I have done this. (I once wore a navy blue shoe and a light putty-colored shoe to work. At least they were the same shoe, just different colors! I also wore pink fuzzy socks and blue slippers one board meeting day. Sigh.)
Anyone else have this condition?

Mindy: I laughed my butt off when I saw this! I could understand if they looked alike..but wow, they don't! You must be very preoccupied! That looks like something I would do!
I loved it too, something I would do! We are always losing shoes in this house! My son went to his basketball banquet with my husbands shoes cuz he couldn't find his..not a big deal, except my husband wears a size 15 shoe and Ryan wears a size 12! lol!
I'm glad my handicap was cause for amusement (I had a good time with it, too!)
