This short little trail is a nice side trip from my regular Kittanning-to-Rosston ride.

Sunday Afternoon Bike Ride

First 10 mile ride this year.
Why is there a headwind both ways in Ford City?
I'm not the only one to experience this, btw :)

Spring Daffodil

Welcome, Spring

This is a brand-new baby on the neighbor's farm.  He was very unsteady on his feet.

Divani Chocolate = Divine

I had a meeting in Parker today, and couldn't resist a side trip to Divani Chocolate in Foxburg.  I had a terrific caramel soy latte and a chunk of dark chocolate w/walnuts for lunch.  Divine!

13 March 2009

I'm fascinated by abandoned houses . . .

I always wondered who lived here, and why no one wanted to or was able to maintain the house.
Somebody still lived here until just last year.
This house is on Craigsville Road.
Someone cared enough to give the house a wash of green paint at some point, even if they weren't very neat.
This is one of the biggest hornets nests I've ever seen.

train at the bottom of the hill

I travel over train tracks every day on my way to and from work.  We like hearing the train whistle; we are probably a mile up the hill from the tracks, but sometimes the train sounds like it's right beside the house, especially when it's foggy.

I must be on a kitty kick--more kitty pics

Cody & Riley tussling.
Riley playing "Mousie."
Flying mousie!
More tussles.
"Ow--my ear!"
"Ouch, my foot!"
BOP!  "I coulda had a V-8!"
"Do you have a fever, Cody?"
Boo finds the mousie.

St. Patrick's Church

Old St. Patrick's log cabin church is about a mile from my house.  Morgan and I went for a ride after work today because it was so nice and springlike outside.  I, of course, had my camera.
