Use your gifts for the Lord
My husband loves to work with his hands--gardening, repairs, working on the cars, and building things. He used his skill to honor Christ on Easter by building a cross with white lights around it. It is amazing how far it shines from the hill our house is on--our way of reminding everyone who drives up our road after dark that Jesus died for our sin; that Easter is about the cross and not just bunnies and candy.
Have a blessed Easter. Please pray for those who don't yet know the Savior!

Tell Buerger I love it!
You said "that Easter is about the cross and not just bunnies and candy"
and to that I say
AMEN!!! AMEN!!! AMEN!!! AMEN!!!
yes, and birthdays are about memorializing an event, not cake and presents and funny hats-- but the cake and presents and funny hats make a great contribution to the celebration!
Give me Jesus AND candy!!
By the way, I see Burger standing there, but I have a feeling that the dog might have had a hand in making that cross too. Come on, Rich, fess up! The dog is the secret of your success, isn't he? He worked hard on that cross, and you got the credit, right? :)
kidding of course.
on a more serious not, Rich, I have a whole house full of opportunities for someone with your gifting. If you ever need new mission fields to serve in . . .
that is funny Pastor Mike :) most kids would agree with the "give me Jesus AND candy" (or stickers) part! I know what Margie is saying too, I have talked to kids who had "no idea" that Easter had anything to do with "Jesus" (who is that?)...very sad. (Or the 2 year old who thought Christmas was Santa Claus's b'day)... We'll make sure the truth doesn't drown in all the yummy chocolate!
I didn't diss candy, Mike--I said, "Easter is about the cross and not JUST about bunnies and candy; I didn't say "Easter is about the cross and NOT about bunnies and candy." M & M's are my drug of choice, after all . . . :>)
Hey, we're not SICK.....we eat cake and candy too!! LOL!
Well, I knew all you ladies loved Candy! In fact, Harvest ladies must really love Candy, because somehow the women's retreat is themed around Jesus and Chocolate!
I think God loves that! He made chocolate, after all, for our pleasure and His glory!
