Bah, Humbug

During this season of "goodwill to men," and "it is better to give than to receive," I would like to share a few facts:

If you have any money at all, you have more money than 1 billion people (there are 6 1/2 billion people in the world). Most Americans are indescribably wealthy, by comparison.

~ 24% of Armstrong County families live on less than $25,000/year
~ 57% live on less than $50,000/year

~ If your family income is $75,000/year, you make more money than 80% of local households
~ If your annual income is $100,000, you make more than 92% of Armstrong County families
~ If you make $150,000, you are in the top 1%

~ 10.4% of Armstrong County families live below the poverty level
~ 30.1% of our female-headed households live below the poverty level

As we celebrate our Savior's birthday, please make room in your heart [and wallet] for those less fortunate, and especially for those that don't know Him.

Stats! Now, how do we get in touch with real needs?

(And what if we don't make anything of those amounts? In fact, what if we work in a lumber mill and are paid only in coupons?)

MIndy, your template is so . . . 2005. Can you do anything to upgrade?

1. I LIKE measurables.

2. No, I can't. Margie, Mike says my blog is outdated. Can you help me, O Queen of Fancy Blog Stuff?

Well, you can pick a different template. I think all that is left of my template is the framework. LOL. Do you know how to write html? If you do, you can edit the html, just find the image you want to change and insert your own file in place of that image. If not, um, stop by my house and I'll teach you!

okay, to look at this another way, 43% of people in Armstrong county are over the 50k mark.

And, the cost of living in Armstrong county is very low compared to many places in the country.

An argument could be made that life in Armstrong county might be "richer" than most places.

hey, go to New Jersey. there, if you don't make big-time bucks (I mean well into 6 figures) you don't even get to live near trees or woods (I'm not kidding).

Let us be thankful for how God has blessed Armstrong County!
